New digital communication platform to step up the fight against social fraud

August 2023 - The social inspectorate, the public prosecutor's office and the relevant services have recently acquired a new weapon in the fight against illegal labour and social fraud. The so-called e-Dossier platform should improve communication between the various actors and optimise cooperation.

Thanks to the e-Dossier platform, social inspection services, the public prosecutor's office and the Directorate of Administrative Fines of the FPS WASO can exchange data securely and in accordance with the GDPR and follow the progress of a case. Moreover, they can also consult original documents relating to prosecutions and convictions.

Benefits for citizens and businesses too

The eDossier will also simplify administration for citizens and businesses as decisions can now be sent to them via the eBox and they will be able to consult their file digitally. Finally, the platform will also be used by regional social inspection services and regional administrative fine services. Thus, the e-File should make it possible to avoid double sanctions and better take previous sanctions into account in sentencing.

The platform will have a legal framework in the Social Penal Code. This will define exactly who may consult the e-File and for what purpose.
